There’s no joking this April– spring holidays and celebrations are filling our calendar and we’re excited for some good times and great weather. We have been hoppin’ busy like bunnies preparing meals, sweet treats, and even some savings that will make your spring festivities complete.
Spring Traditions to Savor
The past two years have made many of us more nostalgic for the spring traditions that have been a big part of our lives and our families although we may not have had a chance to enjoy them recently. Whether you’re looking to celebrate the old-fashioned way this spring or start a new tradition, we have exactly what you need to make your holidays even more memorable.
Our Heat and Serve Easter Dinners offer what you need this Easter to give you more time to spend with your guests. If you like ham, we have a Leidy’s Spiral Cut Easter ham, ready-to-eat or heat, and with the glaze on the side. We offer these naturally wood smoked hams with spring carrots and broccoli in our garlic butter sauce, green beans almondine, and potatoes au gratin options. We also have Leg of Lamb, either bone-in & boneless available. Order by Monday, April 11th to ensure one of these special meals will be available for your festivities.
In our family, we say Buona Pasqua at Easter and enjoy our Italian specialties of sausage and lasagna, too, which are available in our special Easter packages or ala carte this season. Another Italian tradition that everyone enjoys are our specialty sweet and savory pies. The ricotta pie is delicately flavored with anisette and lemon and offers just the right amount of sweetness. If you haven’t tried our rice pies, made with ricotta, rice, and cinnamon, you are in for a real treat this holiday season. The savory meat pies, known as pizza piena, are made with ricotta, ham, and pepperoni and will make everyone’s mouth water and are available Friday, April 8th which means you don’t have to wait to celebrate these delicacies.
Of course, Easter wouldn’t be complete without the traditional Easter breads available in rings, twists (with or without egg), and dolls. Not only are these delicious, but they also look so good on your Easter table, along with a Bunny cake of course, and will make everyone smile remembering past celebrations.
Spring Brunch
With Spring Break on the calendar, offices opening, and kid’s activities back in full swing, gathering the gang for Easter may be a challenge for some. A great option is to consider hosting a Palm Sunday brunch buffet or luncheon, giving everyone a chance to gather and enjoy some great food and company. This could also be a great way to celebrate a spring milestone like a First Holy Communion, Confirmation, birthday, or shower.
Our quiches are always popular and available in 9 varieties which means serving a variety of these will ensure everyone has something to enjoy. Pick from spinach, spinach & red pepper, spinach & mushroom, tomato basil, broccoli, Lorraine, ham, sausage, and seafood (with crab and shrimp).
Serve several of these and pair with our Easter breads, lasagna, ricotta pies, side salads, and pastries and everyone will be raving about your fantastic brunch buffet. Consider serving Mimosas and a holiday-themed cake or festive cupcakes and your brunch may become the spring celebration everyone will put on their calendar next year.
Spring Means Savings
Springtime activities may fill your weeks, so that means you need to fill your fridge with hearty meals ready in a flash. Look for our biweekly specials that offer cost savings on your family’s favorite dishes, like chicken parmigiana, shrimp scampi, baked pasta dishes, soups, and more. You’ll be happy you stocked up on these great savings on homemade meals.
We are also pleased to offer special savings of 10% on orders over $100 for on-duty police officers, fire and EMS personnel. And, every Wednesday, seniors over 65 will save 10% on orders over $100.
